Here is a group of small screen printed monoprints I am currently working on in the studio. These combine hard-edge geometric shapes and gestural marks whose scales have been altered using a Xerox machine. I am using tissue paper and newsprint as block-out stencils, as well as blue painter's tape to block out specific shapes which interrupt, contain, and conceal the gestural marks. I love working within a limited set of elements to create limitless variations through color, scale, placement, repetition, orientation, and sequence.
In the Studio
I recently left a part-time job in order to dedicate that time to my studio practice. I have lots of ideas I can't wait to work through and share everybody.
Please stay tuned!
